Help Wrench Make the Most of $15–$20 Million in Media Investment

Wrench Group is looking for a Director, Media Investment to lead how we execute and optimize local awareness media across our growing portfolio of home-services brands.

This is a role for someone who loves the business side of media—negotiating, buying, optimizing, holding partners accountable, and making every media dollar work harder.

You'll lead buying and partner negotiations across 20+ markets and $15–$20 million in annual media investment, strengthening how we approach buying standards, partner strategy, investment discipline, and performance.

If you're someone who sees a media plan and immediately starts thinking about how to buy it smarter, negotiate it better, and improve its performance, this could be a great fit.

Please note:  We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas needed now or in the future.

Responsibilities

What Will I Do?

Lead How We Buy Media

You'll own the buying approach for approved local awareness investments across traditional and digital channels.

You'll establish portfolio-wide standards for negotiation, placement, partner selection, documentation, pacing, and optimization and lead commercial conversations around rates, placements, added value, terms, and make-goods.

You'll have meaningful autonomy over day-to-day negotiation, placement, vendor management, pacing, delivery, and optimization within approved strategies and budgets.

Turn Strategy Into Effective Media Buys

Turn approved market strategies into executable, trackable media buys.

That means translating strategy into clear audience, geography, reach, frequency, timing, placement, cost, and measurement requirements while managing campaign calendars, trafficking, insertion orders, deployment schedules, and proof of performance.

Optimize Performance

The work doesn't stop once the media is purchased.

You'll monitor spend, delivery, audience quality, traffic, search activity, lead trends, revenue, and capacity signals throughout campaigns and use that information to optimize across channels, vendors, audiences, placements, and dayparts.

Get More From Our Media Partners

We want someone who knows how to build strong media partnerships—and also knows how to hold those partners accountable.

You'll push for the right rates, placements, inventory, added value, make-goods, documentation, and performance while using Wrench's portfolio scale to create greater value across our markets.

Qualifications

Do I Have What it akes?

We're looking for someone who combines deep media-buying expertise with commercial judgment, financial discipline, analytical thinking, and strong negotiation skills.

Ideally, you'll bring:

    • 7+ years of progressive experience in media buying, media investment, activation, or a related discipline, including experience with complex, multi-market media portfolios.
    • Strong experience negotiating with media partners and vendors.
    • Experience combining traditional and digital media to create effective market-specific buys.
    • Experience managing or influencing significant media investment.
    • Strong commercial judgment and an instinct for identifying value, efficiency, and opportunity.
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use performance data to optimize investment decisions.
    • Experience managing multiple markets, partners, campaigns, budgets, and deadlines simultaneously.
    • The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with senior stakeholders.
    • A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is preferred but not required.
